The Grand Presents An Evening of Alton Brown

February 2, 2026

Television personality, author, and famed foodist Alton Brown has just announced his new live concept show, An Evening of Alton Brown, an intimate theatrical experience that will bring audiences closer than ever to the man behind some of the most beloved culinary shows of all time.

Fans in Wilmington, Delaware, will have the opportunity to experience An Evening of Alton Brown when it comes to Copeland Hall at The Grand on Thursday, April 9, for one performance only at 7:30 PM.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.thegrandwilmington.org  or by calling 302-652-5577.

Although he’s keeping the details under wraps, Brown has said that with An Evening of Alton Brown, he’s “stirring up some twists on his greatest hits,” and “spicing things up with new demonstrations, music, and slightly scaled-down mayhem.” No matter what, An Evening of Alton Brown will present Brown as you’ve never seen him — unless, of course, you’ve been invited to his house.

Best known for creating and hosting groundbreaking television such as Good Eats, Iron Chef America, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Food Network Star, Brown has also built one of the most successful culinary touring franchises ever, performing live in more than 300 cities for well over half a million fans. With An Evening of Alton Brown, he strips away the spectacle in favor of connection, spontaneity, and storytelling, delivering a show that is equal parts humor, science, food, and heart.

ABOUT THE GRAND

The Grand is one of the region’s premier performing arts presenters, offering music, dance, comedy, and family-focused programming, along with the best of touring Broadway. The organization is a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization and operates three venues on Wilmington’s Market Street arts corridor (Copeland Hall, the baby grand, and The Playhouse on Rodney Square).

The opulent and historic Grand Opera House has been a landmark for the residents of Wilmington and the surrounding region for 154 years. Opened in 1871 as a home for the Grand Lodge of the Masons, The Grand played host to thousands of renowned entertainers and performing artists over the years, including Ethel Barrymore, Buffalo Bill Cody, John Philip Sousa, political cartoonist Thomas Nast, and the Jubilee Singers of Fisk University. Reopened in 1973 after falling into disrepair in 1971, the current organization has had artists such as Sarah McLachlan, Willie Nelson, The White Stripes, Trey Anastasio, Lewis Black, Ron White, Lisa Lampanelli, Pete Davidson, and more grace their stages. The Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Opera Delaware, First State Ballet Theatre, and The Rock Orchestra are all in residence at The Grand, presenting full schedules in each of their disciplines.

Between The Grand, its resident performing companies, and rentals, the building hosts more than 300 events a year, bringing more than 100,000 people into downtown Wilmington and through its doors.
