Do More 24 Delaware: Making the Most of Every Hour

Delaware's Biggest Fundraiser Starts at 6 PM

By Leslie Hudson, Wilmington-New Castle Macaroni KID Publisher March 5, 2026

24 hours can make a world of difference. To Delaware non-profits, the hours between March 5 at 6 PM and March 6 at 6 PM matter the most.

Do More 24 Delaware is a statewide 24-hour giving event where thousands of Delawareans raise funds and awareness for fundraisers across every sector. It is a statewide celebration of generosity organized by Spur Impact, United Way of Delaware, and countless partners.

We chatted with Jennifer Saienni, MBA, Director of Nonprofit Engagement, Spur Impact, to learn more about Delaware's Giving Day.

What inspired Do More 24 Delaware?

Do More 24 Delaware was inspired by a simple idea: when you create one shared, highly visible moment for giving, communities show up in a bigger way. Nonprofits will not only benefit from funding, but also from attention, new supporters, and long-term momentum. From my perspective, the power of Do More 24 Delaware is the way it brings the whole state into the same story at the same time. It creates a sense of connection and collective purpose that is hard to replicate on any other day of the year.

In 2025, Do More 24 Delaware brought together more than 22,000 donors who gave over $2.5 million in 24 hours, with participation from every Delaware ZIP code. Since the campaign launched in 2016, it has raised more than $12 million for nonprofits across the state.

For 2026, we’re entering the year with strong momentum and high participation from nonprofits statewide. Because the giving window is still ahead of us, the best way to follow real-time totals is the live leaderboard at DoMore24Delaware.org once the event begins.

What are some ways that people can get involved?

The easiest way to get involved is to donate at DoMore24Delaware.org during the 24-hour window. You can support a nonprofit you already love or discover a new organization doing work that matters to you.

People can also help by sharing a nonprofit’s giving page, encouraging friends and coworkers to participate, and engaging their workplace or community network to join in. Those actions may seem small, but in a statewide giving moment like this, they add up quickly and help nonprofits reach new audiences.

What is something that you’re most proud of?

I’m most proud of the way Do More 24 Delaware has become a catalyst for both funding and long-term growth for nonprofits of all sizes. The total dollars are exciting, but what sticks with me are the stories behind them: the small nonprofit that meets its biggest goal, the rural organization that reaches new donors for the first time, the executive director who has breathing room in a budget that’s been stretched thin.

I’m also proud of the trust this event represents: nonprofits trusting us with their stories, donors trusting that their gifts make a difference, and community and business leaders stepping up to amplify the impact. That ecosystem is what makes this day special, and it’s why the impact lasts well beyond the 24 hours.
